Alexandre “Vaca” Moreno

Alexandre “Vaca” Moreno began practicing Jiu Jitsu in 1992. His parents made him discontinue his training for a few years due to the prevalence of some people using BJJ for aggressive purposes instead of using it as the art that it was intended.
He then began practicing Judo with the HIGASHI family under EUDES MONTEIRO.
In 2000 Vaca began training BJJ again at the Kimura Novauniao Academy in Natal Brazil under professor Jair Lourenco.
Vaca then moved to Rio de Janiero to train with Marcos Ruas (RUAS VALE TUDO) in the mornings and then train BJJ at night, fully commiting himself to the sport. He was known to sleep on the mats in order to ensure he had the most possible training time available to him.
In 2005 he decided to come to the USA to pursue his dream of being a professional grappler and MMA fighter. It was a very hard road for Vaca, as he didn’t speak English and did not know many people. He worked multiple jobs to survive and his training in turn suffered.
His luck changed when fate brought MARCO ALVAN AND GABRIEL “NAPAO GONZAGA” from TEAM LINK into his life.
Vaca began teaching at the TEAM LINK academy in Worcester, MA where he was welcomed by all the students and instructors. He was very happy with the team’s success and the championships that they were consistently winning.
Finally in January of 2009 he received a proposal to start his own BJJ academy in the state of New Hampshire, where he now has academies in Manchester, Derry and now Concord. He is very happy to be part of TEAM LINK, and feels that they have now become his family in the USA.
