Q: What if I am not in shape enough to participate in bootcamp?

A: The F.I.T. team is comprised of qualified fitness professionals, which means that someone is there to help you every step of the way. Our coaches can modify exercises to make them more manageable if you have trouble performing the traditional variation of a movement. What you’ll find is that some exercises are easier for you than others. If you have trouble with a particular exercise, that signals an area that needs work, and our coaches will pay particular attention to that area to help you overcome those challenges.

Q: Can I come work out whenever I want?

A: We like to refer to ourselves as an athletic training facility. We aren’t a gym in the traditional sense that you come in and are left to figure out how to get a good workout. Every time you set foot inside of our facility you will be working with a qualified and experienced coach. We try to offer a variety of classes and services at a wide range of times to suit everyone’s needs. As F.I.T. grows our schedule will grow and more classes will be offered at more times. You can help out by referring members. For every member you refer that signs up you get $50*.

Q: Why do you do group coaching?

A: The traditional gym model simply is not effective for the average person to get the results they want. Most gyms charge anywhere between $10-$60 a month, and that’s just to use their equipment  If you want any help from a trainer you have to pay extra, sometimes as much as $150/hr. By offering group coaching  we can make it more affordable for our clients to get personalized attention from a coach. Group coaching  also helps promote a positive atmosphere, and helps people stay motivated. Group exercisers eventually begin to look forward to seeing their fitness friends, and can enjoy their successes together.

Q: Do you offer private training?

A: We do offer semi-private and private training sessions. All of our instructors are available for private training sessions. Scheduling varies depending on who you would like to work with. Please ask Tony about times and rates.

Q: Why do my membership dues have to be billed to a credit or debit card?

A: F.I.T. Offers a wide variety of services and many different membership options, by automating our billing it makes us much easier to provide better customer service, and ensure a smooth hassle free transaction for both parties. F.I.T. is also an environmentally friendly service, which is also why we e-mail receipts as opposed to printing them (printed receipts are available upon request).

Q: Do your memberships have a commitment?

A: We currently have a 6 month commitment for Bootcamp and Dainty Boys Combat Conditioning.  It is unlikely that someone will get the full benefit of the coaching experience if they do not commit to consistently attending for at least 3 months.

Q: If I sign up for a commitment does my membership end at the end of the term?

A: After the term of your commitment has ended your membership continues on a month-to-month basis, at which point you can cancel, with at least 14 days written notice, with no further fees.

Q: Can I “freeze” my membership?

A: F.I.T. will only freeze a membership for military duty or injury. Documentation is required in either instance.

Q: What happens if the class schedule changes and I’m unable to attend class at the new time?

A: If class schedule changes and you are unavailable to make the new time, you will not be obligated to complete your membership contract, however if there is another comparable service you are interested in that fits your schedule we would be more than happy to switch your membership to entail said service.

Q: Is there a dress code?

A: The only policy we have in regards to clothing is that we ask you bring a separate pair of shoes to exercise in. This isn’t just to help keep the facility clean, but to also help ensure your safety as it is dangerous to work out in wet sneakers and on a wet floor. Other than that we suggest you wear whatever you feel most comfortable in while exercising. Generally sweat pants or shorts, and sweat-shirt or t-shirt.

Q: How old do you have to be to become a member?

A: All members must be at least 14 years of age. Anyone under the age of 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult and anyone under the age of 18 needs a parent or guardian signature to become a member. No exceptions.

Q: Are classes coed?

A: Most of our classes are open to both men and women.

Q: Is there a day care?

A: At this time we do not offer any child care services. We ask that if your child is not a member that you please do not bring them to class with you. This is not only to help keep our exercising members focused, but also to ensure the safety of your child. Plus it’s just plain boring for them to sit there while Mom or dad exercises.

Common Member Questions

Q: How do I register for classes online?

A:

  • First go to this link: https://clients. mindbodyonline.com/ASP/home. asp?studioid=13336 (make sure to bookmark it so you don’t have to remember it!)
  • In the top right corner you will see a button that says “New users: Sign up!” Click that link
  • Under the heading Is this your first time? You will be prompted to fill out your first and last name
  • Once you’ve filled out your name, hit next and you should see your name with a link next to it that says “This is me!” click that button.
  • You will then be prompted to enter your e-mail. Once you’ve done so, you will receive an e-mail with a link to set your password. PLEASE DO THIS IMMEDIATELY

Once you’ve set your password you can begin to book yourself into specific class times. It’s simple…just log into the mindbody site, and you’ll see a complete class schedule, click the class you want to book into and fill in all the necessary fields.

Here are some things you should know about this procedure:

  • We cap our classes at 24
  • Only 20 people are allowed to pre-book online (this is to allow the occasional walk-in of new/potential clients)
  • 4 People can be wait listed. Meaning, if the online booking is full you can be put on a wait list, and if someone cancels you will then have the opportunity to take their spot (this goes in the order in which you joined the wait list)
  • You can cancel your appointment via the web, or by calling us. Cancellations MUST be done at least FOUR hours prior to the start of a class.
  • You DO NOT have to pre-register for a class,  however if you don’t you run the risk of  being turned away when you arrive if the  class is at max capacity. (This is a rule we will uphold, and it’s to maximize YOUR time in our classes)
  • If you register for a class and do not show up, you lose that visit for the month! Hopefully this will keep people accountable for attendance.
  • There is no limit to how far in advance you book a class.

Q: What happens if I can’t make my weekly visits?

A: We advertise packages as being a certain number of days/week to make it easy for people to visualize how frequently they can attend but in actuality you get a certain amount of visits per month.

2 days/week = 8 visits/month

3 days/week = 12 visits/month

4 days/week = 16 visits/month

  • Therefor, if you miss a visit one week you can come in an extra time the following week with no penalty as long as you stay within your allotted visits/month (The month = your billing cycle.  If you are billed on the 12th of the month your visits are valid until the 11th of the following month.)
  • Any unused classes DO NOT roll over from month month, so be sure to take advantage of them all!
  • If you do happen to go over your allotted monthly visits, you will be charged $12 for that visit.
  • We would like to take this time to remind you of our new Barbell Bootcamp class, which is dedicated to helping you focus in on building a strong healthy body! You can mix and match your regular bootcamp classes with the barbell class, however for most people we recommend, 2 and 2 per week for an optimal workout!
  • Also don’t forget during these winter months evening and weekend classes get very busy and it’s a good idea to pre-register for classes. You can do so by going to https://clients.mindbodyonline.com/ASP/adm/home.asp?studioid=13336 .

Q: How do I schedule a new member assessment?
