-Cancellation Terms:

We are not going to handcuff you to this, however.  There are a couple of options if you should unfortunately need to discontinue training for some reason:

If you should need to cancel your membership prior to the 12 months you can do so, but with a $249 termination fee.  ($199 for the 6 month commitment).

If you need to freeze your membership due to travelling or other life commitments, we can do so for $20/month (for up to 3 months) and we will just add that many months on to the end of your commitment.

Of course if you have a medically necessary reason to freeze we will be happy to do so at no charge with a letter from your healthcare provider, once again adding on to the end of your original agreement.

If you move and your new location is more than 20 miles from us, we will terminate your membership at no cost!

OCR Training Camp

As so many of us know, obstacle course racing has become a very popular sport in recent years and we have a large contingent that has been participating in these events.  FIT recognizes that people want to start to become more involved in this sport and that there are many of you who want to improve upon what you have already accomplished.

Most people can climb through a mud pit or run over some bales of hay, but there are many people who find the strength based obstacles very challenging and even unattainable.  Obstacles like monkey bars, tire pulls, barbed wire crawls, wall climbs, rope climbs and the Hercules pull are just a few of the things that we know people struggle with.

This is where FIT comes in.  We will be offering and Obstacle Course Race training class starting Friday Sept 26.  Classes will be Friday evening at 5:30 and Sunday mornings at 9:00.  These classes will be designed to push your physical and mental limits while building a supportive team environment.

Friday classes will focus on power development, improving technique on specific obstacles and challenges and will include mini-mock race setups.

Sunday‘s class will be offsite “field trips” to local parks, farms and trails and focus on running and hiking with other conditioning drills incorporated into the trek.

The OCR Training Camp will be an 8 week block and will conclude just prior to the Fenway Spartan sprint. Put this in the Super Duper awesome file, but Livingsocial just put up a deal for Fenway registration at a HUGE DISCOUNT!

We are very excited to offer such a fun, yet intense and team building class for you.  Each class will be very challenging and filled with intensity much like an OCR.  You will be asked to push yourself to your limits and beyond.  We aim to help you mentally and physically push yourself to do more than you ever imagined.  That’s how you get results and that’s how we build the team bond.

FIT Kids

Our quest to begin offering youth specific programs has run into some roadblocks…mainly scheduling.

When parents are available to bring their kids in we already have full classes, and when we have the availability to add new class times it seems to be difficult for parents to coordinate transportation.

I have been racking my brain over how to think outside the box and begin to offer top notch coaching to young athletes and have finally come to a conclusion that I think will work quite well.  It is so simple I’m actually kind of frustrated I hadn’t thought of it before…

Why not just incorporate kids into existing classes?  We’ve done it on a small scale in the past and had great success, so why not open it up for a summer youth program?

When looking at the pros and cons, it was quite a lopsided list. The pros seemed like a never-ending discussion with everyone I talked to and the cons numbered approximately one (ensuring that there would be nobody enrolled in the program that would be difficult to integrate into class and be disruptive to others), of which we will remedy with the following:

Orientation of the basic movements and initial assessment.  All prospects will be required to complete a 90 minute course prior being enrolled in the program.  This will do the following:

  • Cover the primary movement patters that we commonly utilize.
  • Assess how successfully each athlete can perform the movements.
  • Allow us to distinguish if  any movement dysfunction is present.
  • Determine a baseline of current physical abilities.
  • And finally act as a way for us to determine if this program is right for each athlete and if not, help us to suggest a more appropriate program to meet each individual’s unique needs.

We will be opening up all BOOTCAMP classes with the exception of Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm for young athletes to attend.

The session will be 10 weeks from June 24th-August 31st.

Fred’s Fund Silent Auction

In May of 2010 I began working out at Fun Intelligent Training, and that is all
I did, I did NOT change my diet at all, Yes some weight came off but nothing
really that mattered, Yes I gained muscle, but It really didn’t show through my

8 months ago I decided to make some permanent changes in my life. Eating healthy and consistently exercising were at the top of the list. I signed up as a member of Fun Intelligent Training not too long after making this decision. Shortly after I joined Eric Marsh, the owner of FIT, had coordinated an informative “store tour” at the Concord Hannaford supermarket with their registered dietician, Katy Magoon. Katy proved to be very knowledgeable and was great about answering questions ranging over a wide array of topics from a group of people portraying varying degrees of health and fitness.

Not too long after the store tour I was able to schedule an individual meeting with Katy to discuss my personal eating habits and things I could do to improve upon and/or supplement what I was already doing. It was obvious during our meeting that Katy had taken plenty of time before we met to consider my personal habits and goals, while gathering information and coming up with tips and suggestions that would be beneficial in attaining said goals. She made sure to point out the things I was doing well, while also providing me with ideas for different foods and recipes that I would benefit from by incorporating them into my diet. In the few weeks since our meeting, I’ve begun introducing some of things Katy suggested and I’ve already seen an increase in my overall energy, as well as a reduction in muscle soreness after training sessions at FIT, not to mention that the suggestions she made tasted good too!

I met with Katy last Friday and she was extremely helpful.  At the end of our session I was amazed that 2 1/2 hours had gone by so quickly.  Katy had so many good tips for me to try.  At this point in my life I figured that I knew what I should eat and not eat but Katy was able to help me realize that it isn’t just the calorie content but the way that we combine our foods.  She explained how choosing complex carbs with a protein will fuel my body longer and Katy actually wanted me to snack more.  I wasn’t about to argue with that. :)   Between working out 2x a week at FIT and implementing Katy’s tips I am looking forward to becoming stronger and healthier.

My name is Andrew Turgeon and I have been a member of Fun Intelligent Training for over a year. During that time, I have attended the Dainty Boys Combat Conditioning program on a regular basis. I also train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with Team Link. Thanks to the knowledgeable staff, I have experienced great gains in strength and conditioning.

Despite all of my hard work, something was lacking…and it was my fault. My diet was a total mess. Yes, I could manage a week or two of clean eating here and there, but I ultimately would give up out of boredom and lack of variety. I was up and down on my weight and could never seem to stay focused.

Enter Katy Magoon. For those of you who don’t know her, she is a Registered Dietician at Hannaford Supermarket and a member of FIT. She offers a free consultation with FIT members and will construct a diet plan tailored to you as an individual. I must admit, I was doubtful that she would be able to offer a diet plan I actually enjoyed and could stick with. That changed when I met with her. I was astounded at her knowledge, passion for her work, and the variety of food options that I could incorporate into my diet. She supplied me with a food journal and also gave me a tour of the supermarket to point out the many different foods I should be eating. After implementing her diet plan, I experienced weight loss at a quick, healthy pace, and I was actually eating MORE than before (and the food tastes good too!)

For anyone who wants to take their nutrition and fitness to the next level, I highly recommend they talk with Katy. Her expertise and knowledge, coupled with the excellent training you receive at FIT, will undoubtedly push your fitness into the stratosphere!

  • First go to this link: https://clients. mindbodyonline.com/ASP/home. asp?studioid=13336 (make sure to bookmark it so you don’t have to remember it!)
  • In the top right corner you will see a button that says “New users: Sign up!” Click that link
  • Under the heading Is this your first time? You will be prompted to fill out your first and last name
  • Once you’ve filled out your name, hit next and you should see your name with a link next to it that says “This is me!” click that button.
  • You will then be prompted to enter your e-mail. Once you’ve done so, you will receive an e-mail with a link to set your password. PLEASE DO THIS IMMEDIATELY

Once you’ve set your password you can begin to book yourself into specific class times. It’s simple…just log into the mindbody site, and you’ll see a complete class schedule, click the class you want to book into and fill in all the necessary fields.

Here are some things you should know about this new procedure:

  • We are capping our classes at 24
  • Only 20 people are allowed to pre-book online (this is to allow the occasional walk-in of new/potential clients)
  • 4 People can be wait listed. Meaning, if the online booking is full you can be put on a wait list, and if someone cancels you will then have the opportunity to take their spot (this goes in the order in which you joined the wait list)
  • You can cancel your appointment via the web, or by calling us. Cancellations MUST be done at least FOUR hours prior to the start of a class.
  • You DO NOT have to pre-register for a class,  however if you don’t you run the risk of  being turned away when you arrive if the  class is at max capacity. (This is a rule we will uphold, and again it’s to maximize YOUR time in our classes)
  • If you register for a class and do not show up, you lose that visit for the month! Hopefully this will keep people accountable for attendance.
  • There is no limit to how far in advance you book a class.

Please scan your membership card immediately upon entering the facility.  It is no longer necessary to sign the book (with the exception of State Employees who will need to scan and sign).
